No, really! :) I love to craft and make things with my hands. <br>Apart from running my shop on Etsy, I'm an amateur nature photographer, I love taking photos of all the flowers and wildlife here on this island. I'm also an award-winning baker who's happiest spending an afternoon in the kitchen with a cup of tea, a friend, some good tunes and a great recipe or crochet project in front of me. </p> <p align="justify"><strong><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" src="http://img3-ec.etsystatic.com/il_fullxfull.332722215.jpg" width="451" height="341"></strong></p> <p align="center"><font size="4"><strong>Your Shop Name</strong><br>BeachPlumCottage</font></p> <p align="center"><font size="4"><strong>Your Shop Url</strong><br></font><a href="http://BeachPlumCottage.Etsy.com"><font size="4">BeachPlumCottage.Etsy.com</font></a></p> <p align="justify"><strong></strong> </p> <p align="justify"><strong>-Where are you originally from?<br></strong>I'm originally from Cleveland, Ohio but I've lived all over the country. Have any other artists etc influenced your style?</strong> <p align="justify">My style is very soft, whimsical, feminine and floral. I draw inspiration from the beautiful place where I live - Martha's Vineyard. <p align="justify"><strong>- How did you first come to art and creativity? How did your journey in art and creativity begin?</strong> <p align="justify">I've always been an artist at heart. I was a natural musician and by the age of 15, I was able to play 8 different instruments. I loved theatre, live music and the arts. I was very much a typical geeky art kid in high school. <p align="justify"><strong>-How long have you been creating?</strong> <p align="justify">I've been learning and experimenting my whole life. My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was a little girl, and I never put that away. I started to make hemp and bamboo beaded jewelry when I was in junior high, and loved that too. <br>While I had to put some of these things away while I was in college and working my first few jobs, now that I have lots of free time and the peace and quiet of the island, I find its just a natural flow of creativity. It's ceaseless. </p> <p align="justify"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" src="http://img1-ec.etsystatic.com/il_fullxfull.336137253.jpg" width="417" height="316"></p> <p align="justify"><strong>-What is it that you love so much?</strong> <p align="justify">Some things just get inside you, and give you such intense satisfaction upon completion that you never want to stop. With each new piece of jewelry or new headband I create, I feel such joy in thinking of who might put this to use, or who might truly love it. The act of creation, and sharing it with others is really wonderful. <p align="justify"><strong>-What are your main sources of inspiration?</strong> <p align="justify">This place is so quiet and full of life. Deer roam across the meadow in my yard each evening, and the birds sing me awake each morning. There are so many flowers, trees and plants, so many colors in the sky and sea, in the sand and in the surf, I can't help but feel moved to create. <br>Whether it is a sunset over the ocean, or spring flowers coming up in the fields, there is always some gorgeous, natural feat to be amazed and inspired by. </p> <p align="justify"><strong>-Have you had any mentors, or are you self taught?</strong> <p align="justify">My grandma and the internet have a lot to do with my success. I had a hard time learning from books, but between some real life tutelage from my loving grandmother, and seeing videos of people ACTUALLY doing beadweaving and crochet - rather than attempting to interperet it from diagrams in dusty old pattern books, it just clicked for me. Thanks, YouTube! Thanks, Grandma Emma! :) <p align="justify"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" src="http://img1.etsystatic.com/il_570xN.334505029.jpg" width="403" height="305"> <p align="justify"><strong>-Do you sell more at one time of year than others?<br></p></strong> <p align="justify">Holidays and cold weather are my best selling times. People love to buy scarves and headbands and hats for themselves and for others especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas. <p align="justify"><strong>-What is one thing about your creative process that you think most people don't know?</strong> <p align="justify">The pure joy and love that I put into each stroke. I never make something just to sell - everything I do is inspired and made with care.<br>Because this isn't my "job" - it is my hobby and my labor of love - I don't feel as though it is work. Therefore everything I create is fun, new and exciting. Some of the things I make I end up very tempted to keep for myself, because I like it so much! Sometimes I do, but most often I leave it up in my shop, so I can share this joy with others. </p> <p align="center"><font size="3">Have some tips and advices for new artisians ?</font> <p align="center"><font size="4"><strong>Patience and practice! <br>Make sure you are practicing the correct way, too! Having a weak resistance to diseases is not very good. Getting ill regularly can make you miss a lot of important things especially if you are a working individual or are still going to school. Thankfully, there are many ways for one to strengthen his immune system. Here are some tips to help you get started.</strong></p> <p align="justify"><strong>Physical Activity</strong></p> <p align="justify">You need to move around a lot if you want your immune system to be strengthened. Regular exercise helps a lot of our bodily functions especially circulation. With cleaner and more blood in our veins, our immune system becomes stronger than ever. If you can afford, by all means, consult a trainer or dietician to help aid you in your endeavor.</p> <p align="justify"><strong>Eat right</strong></p> <p align="justify">Nutrients, vitamins and minerals are very important if one wants to strengthen his immune system. These things can be easily obtain from supplements but it is better to get them from fresh food too. Some of these inc<img style="margin: 16px 16px 0px 23px; display: inline; float: right" align="right" src="http://tuftsjournal.tufts.edu/2009/12_2/images/br2-1.jpg">lude fruits, vegetables, low fat dairy products and whole grains. Green leafy vegetables, in particular, serve to increase the alkaline pH of our body and also contain important minerals like calcium and magnesium. It is also advised to take in raw foods because they contain anti-oxidants that also aid the immune system.</p> <p align="justify"><strong>Don’t get stressed</strong></p> <p align="justify">Stress is a key factor in tearing apart a person’s health. One of its effects is the production of toxins in the body. Toxins are harmful substances which reside and are produced in the body. Although our body has mechanisms in place to combat toxins, it is better to not produce these at all.</p> <p align="justify">If you are easily stressed, it helps to take time for deep breathing. This helps relax the mind as well as the heart. Whenever possible, try to bring along something that will distract you from your stress. You can always play on your phone, chat with a friend or go shopping to take your mind of things.</p> <p align="justify"><strong>Drink enough liquids</strong></p> <p align="justify">The heading mentions liquids because water is fine and all but there are also other liquids that can help. A good example is juice. Juice is processed quickly by the body and contains Vitamin C which helps strengthen the immune system. Whatever liquid you choose, it is important to drink enough of it daily so that the digestive tract is cleaned regularly. This helps flush out any toxins that may reside in our body.</p> <p align="justify"><strong>Maintain a healthy lifestyle</strong></p> <p align="justify">It is no use fortifying the immune system if we are just going to tear it up with our vices. Smoking and drinking are the top two problems plaguing citizens these days.</p> <p align="justify">Smoking is the bigger problem among these two. It hurts us way quicker than drinking. It kills a lot of antibodies which are the first line of defense we have. It also kills our lungs which decreases the efficiency of our respiration. This can have a lasting effect on the body due to lesser amounts of clean air being taken in.</p> <p style="font-style: italic" align="justify"> <p align="justify">Article written by Andrew Ellis from <a href="http://www.steamshowersupply.co.uk" target="_blank">www.steamshowersupply.co.uk</a> online fitness and health site and steam sauna and shower retailers</p> ketublack8http://www.blogger.com/profile/15528141407869177422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5782403963530326699.post-37840785157006121652012-05-31T11:07:00.000-07:002012-06-03T04:21:57.973-07:005 Things to Take into Account When Buying a Heater for Your House<p align="justify">When buying something for the first time or buying a replacement, there are things that need to be considered. No one wants to end up with something that they can't use, or something that breaks down too soon. When buying a heater, there are different things to consider. It is essential that proper research and homework is done prior shopping. The most important thing to consider is exactly where is the heater required? Is it for one or two rooms or a whole central heating unit is required? </p> <p align="justify"><img style="margin: 4px 17px 5px 0px; display: inline; float: left" align="left" src="http://sp.life123.com/bm.pix/home-heating-system.s600x600.jpg" width="344" height="228"></p> <p align="justify"><strong><font size="2">Once this is decided, the five things to consider are: </font></strong></p> <p align="justify"><strong></strong> </p> <p align="justify"><strong>Electric or Gas Heater</strong> </p> <p align="justify">Once it has been decided where the heater is needed, it is time to decide if an electric heater will be better or a gas heater. When buying a large space heater, it is best to buy an electric space heater. This is the only heater that can be operated inside a room without a vent. Gas heaters are more convenient as a central heating unit and more economical. </p> <p align="justify"><strong>Heater Type </strong></p> <p align="justify">The next thing to consider is the type of heater. When buying a gas heater, it is important to consider the type of fuel that is to be used. The choices are limited between liquid propane and natural gas. Liquid propane is more useful when there is not natural gas line present. For electric heaters, there are again different types; </p> <p align="justify"><strong>Space heaters</strong> </p> <p align="justify">Radiative heaters or Convection heaters. Convection heaters pump hot air in the room and are grouped under Space heaters. Radiative heaters warm the objects near by and are best suited for small spaces. </p> <p align="justify"><strong>Heating Capacity</strong> </p> <p align="justify">Once it has been decided on what type of a heater is required, it is important to check the heating capacity of the heater. There is no general rule of thumb to decide which heater would be best suited for a room. This depends on the size of the room and the environment one lives in (below freezing or not). </p> <p align="justify"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" src="http://cache.lifehacker.com/assets/images/17/2011/11/fd29d798fc2b3d4d63beb39456d7b33e.png"></p> <p align="justify"><strong>Energy Efficiency</strong> </p> <p align="justify">Using heaters excessively and continuously can increase electric or gas bills. To avoid a substantial increase in the bill during winters, it is best to check the efficiency and do a cost to consumption analysis. This can help determine how much heat can be used without having to pay a large bill. </p> <p align="justify">Safety Features </p> <p align="justify">Monitoring heaters and giving them proper maintenance is very important. Without these, the heater can start a fire. When buying a heater, make sure that it has a cool to touch surface. This will reduce the chances of burns that can be caused by heated surfaces. Besides, it will be safe if children accidently go near it. Like most electrical appliances, electric heaters also produce noise. </p> <p align="justify">Try buying a non-fan based heaters for bedrooms and offices to minimize noise. Allan has been reviewing and blogging about home appliances including washine machine, <a href="http://www.oo.com.au/Heaters_C459.cfm">electric heaters</a> and air conditioner. Allan has published blog posts in several shopping sites.</p> ketublack8http://www.blogger.com/profile/15528141407869177422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5782403963530326699.post-81836302122635439322012-05-30T11:22:00.000-07:002012-06-03T04:21:57.980-07:00Why Google Puts Scientific Research Tools in the Hands of Journalists?<p align="justify"><strong>Are you proficient at creating graphs with hand using a set of information? Or do you know how to design and develop a survey? People who have studied statistics know about information classification and several methodologies used to derive a ballpark figure. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to utilize those skills practically. Most of us cannot process the scientific information and this is the blatant truth.</strong> <p align="justify"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" src="http://www.proho.gr/sites/default/files/imagecache/galleryfull2/google-logo-3.jpg" width="468" height="312"> <p align="justify">However, thanks to science that has widened and simplified its toolbox so everybody can use it. Cloud computing and plenty of public information gives scholars and journalists the benefit of undertaking computer generated reporting. This not only makes information processing easier for journalists, but also for other people associated with the task. For more information on internet providers click here, and if you wish to take a story to even better heights, then you must use these tools: <h3 align="justify">1. Google Public Data</h3> <p align="justify">Today, student at journalism schools are taught frequently about the improvements and developments in the field of technology. They are instructed to carry out research on the rise in cell phone connections and broadband internet in developing economies and remote locations. This lets them know the investigative aspect of journalism and activates in them the urge to make the maximum use of internet technology. You can get better results for anything by entering the keyword into the advanced search option in Google. However, until now Google cannot search into databases that store exact public data. So, the questions remain that how to search for a database that would offer these numbers. <p align="justify">Usually, when researching on the aforementioned topic, one would come up with statistical figures collected by the United Nations Development Project and the World Bank. By searching even more into these organizations’ websites, one would come up with their spreadsheets that reveal the actual numbers you have been looking for. But, now you have an even challenging task on how to process the information to make it readable, yet comprehensible for the readers. <p align="justify">You should not always resort to adding tables and figures as a final solution. The best solution is to make a graph. Microsoft Excel gives excellent results with numerous possibilities. By adding your information to maps, you can make your content stronger. However, you should be familiar with software for Geographical Information Systems to add numbers to your digital map. For beginners, it can be an extremely tiring and hard-working task. <p align="justify">But, with the invention of Google’s latest toolset, this task is no more a laborious one. Recently, Google also launched its Public Data Analysis. It is now very simple and easy to find growth statistics for cell phone connections and broadband connections to compare with any information. You will only have to select data of the World Bank, find the cell phone subscriptions and tag all the countries. <p align="justify">It is also not at all a difficult task to incorporate data and maps. You have developed the graph based on the information provided by the World Bank, so just download the spreadsheet. Now, you can import the spreadsheet to the Google documents. And from here; you can incorporate data onto the Google map using tables. At last, now you will only have to import your spreadsheet in tables and select visualize options. <p align="justify"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" src="http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2011/3/31/1301573256001/Bunsen-Google-doodle-008.jpg"> <h3 align="justify">2. Google Forms </h3> <p align="justify">It is usually very easy for the journalists to write stories on different subjects; however, one needs to have real data to include as backup data. Incorporating a small-scaled survey will add a lot of substance to your story and make it more credible. Previously, this task was extremely time-consuming; however, with Google Forms, you can easily create questionnaires on the fly. In order to do this, go to Google documents, select New and instantly develop a personalized questionnaire using Google Forms. It does not take a lot of your time and you can add as much content as you want to. <p align="justify">You can now mail the questionnaire and post it on your website or blog. This is one of the main reasons why technology has advanced so far, and it is still advancing. Our continuous lust for advancement has led us to a point where we cannot survive without personal electronic devices. Cable internet providers all over the world have seen a drastic rise in internet users over the past five years. </div><div align="justify">However, with such advancements there are inherent risks we tend to ignore. </div><div align="justify"><img height="652" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQpNfWaOqaGwfhaaf7NWPFj6NyN2dL6L075_3d8PiQn55NrXljh_C37qo1M3Ri3QU-HeNDxjNu4IMbAETMlqhKdmRfmOSTaqGRCLFC7fHddKTIP3UjKtJgDwWCx1Hew_59LzDEmh9SwGYv/s1600/electronic-devices-vector.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="461" /> </div><h4 align="justify">What is a Personal Electronic Device?</h4><div align="justify">The first few gadgets that come to mind when personal electronic devices are mentioned are mobile phones, iPhones and laptops. </div><div align="justify">These electronics have become the basic need of modern life. Without them you can’t succeed in any walk of life. Not just adults, but even children nowadays live a life dependent on electronics. They need it for homework and projects at school. They want to keep in touch with their friends throughout the day or during vacations. In fact, without access to the internet through these devices they can cause parents and guardians to go insane with their tantrums. </div><div align="justify">Adults mostly need personal electronics for business and social media. Today, even businesses rely on social media for success. Every adult walks around staying connected to the internet 24/7 for several reasons. This means that you want to have the most reliable cable internet providers to subscribe with. However, with all the access to internet, you are subjecting your kids and yourself to the following hazards: </div><div align="justify">· <b>Monitor Position:</b> We neglect the importance of positioning the monitor correctly. Sometimes it is either too high or too low. This affects the user’s neck and back posture. In children this leads to permanent bad posture. Besides, it must be at a particular distance from the eyes to prevent harmful electromagnetic rays from affecting vision. If the monitor is tilted or has dual screens, it can also affect the eye sight. </div><div align="justify">· <b>Monitor Type:</b> There are some monitors that flicker at the edges. This can weaken the muscles of the eyes because the eye keeps adjusting to the flicker. </div><div align="justify">· <b>Keyboard and Mouse Position:</b> If these are placed too high, too low, too far or too close, it affects the spine and back of the user. People end up experiencing backache and shoulder pain too frequently if the position is not right. Especially if your job description entails long hours of work on the computer. </div><div align="justify">· <b>Keyboard and Mouse Type:</b> Although we all want to look stylish with the gadgets we use, sometimes this is a bad idea. If the shape and size of the mouse is not good enough, then we work with inconvenience. This affects the posture of the arms and can also affect our fingers. For instance, if the keypad or mouse of the iPhone is too small, you will have to work with inconvenience. </div><div align="justify">· <b>Less Physical Movement:</b> It is known as a fact that in recent times, we move way less than people used to a hundred years ago. Now we have access to the whole world through computers and internet. We don’t even have to attend social gatherings anymore because we have virtual social gatherings online. We can place an order and receive ready-made food without going grocery shopping or cooking. This impacts general health and leads to severe health problems in kids and adults alike. </div><div align="justify">· <b>Less Awareness with Surrounding: </b>Personal electronic devices come with headphones. These cause reduced awareness of one’s surrounding. We often see it happen, people cross roads with plugged ears or drive while in a call. This leads to accidents and sudden deaths. The ratio of deaths due to electronic devices has also increased over the past decade. </div><div align="justify"><b><img src="http://www.womanaroundtown.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/crush-520x407.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></b> </div><div align="justify">· <b>More Stress and Fatigue: </b>In recent times the number of stress and fatigue cases reporting at hospitals has increased. This is because people spend endless hours in one position. They are constantly exerting their brain and body through online activities. <b></b> </div><div align="justify">· <b>Fraud and Hacking: </b>Through personal electronic devices, crimes like identity theft, theft of sensitive business data, credit card theft and hacking have become too rampant.<b></b> </div><div align="justify">Therefore, while personal electronic devices and cable internet providers have several benefits, these risks warrant their limited use. </div><div align="justify"><b>About the Author:</b> </div><div align="justify">The above article is written by BD, who is a freelance writer from broadband expert group. Algorithms and search engines<div align="justify"><b><img align="left" src="http://www.homebusinessblogs.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/swap1.gif" style="display: inline; float: left; margin: 0px 4px 0px 0px;" />Link swapping was once an important aspect of search engine optimization, as search engines based their search results, in part, on how often other pages linked to a website. Over time people found ways to game the system, swapping links with any website willing to do so. Search engines adapted by altering how their algorithms judge incoming links, leading some pundits to suggest that link-building is an obsolete practice.</b></div><div align="justify">Actually, link-building still improves your search engine ranking, but the process has become more complicated. Reputable Google SEO services still utilize link-building, but they don't take the "more is better" view that once dominated the industry. Instead, the emphasis is on targeted, relevant links.</div><div align="justify"><b>One-Way Links Beat Link Swapping</b></div><div align="justify">In traditional link-swapping, each site embeds a link to the other site somewhere on their website. Your incoming link could wind up on the other site's homepage, on a secondary page with content that might be relevant to your site, or as part of a link page listing forty or fifty other links.</div><div align="justify">Search engines prefer one-way links over multiple-page links. In other words, they don’t like to see an incoming link from a site that contains dozens of other links. Nor do search engines like incoming links from pages with no relevant content. If your website focuses on heavy-duty mechanics, swapping links with a crochet website won't improve either site's search results.</div><div align="justify"><b>Choosing Sites</b></div><div align="justify"><img align="left" src="http://webpresenceoptimization.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/link-buildings.jpg" style="display: inline; float: left; margin: 0px 7px 0px 0px;" />First and foremost, only swap links with a site that has content that adds value to your existing site, but doesn’t compete directly with your site or duplicate your content. Ideally, both websites show up when users search using the same keywords, or at least similar words.</div><div align="justify">Sites you link-swap with should also be well-designed. Linking to a poorly-written site with a broken navigation system will only harm your own website in the long run, both in terms of search engine optimization and user reputation. At all costs avoid suspicious sites that may contain malware or viruses.</div><div align="justify"><b>Swap Content, Not Links</b></div><div align="justify">One of the most effective methods of link-swapping, and a strategy used by many <a href="http://www.webpagefx.com/Google-SEO.html">Google SEO Services</a>, is to swap unique articles and content with another website. You write a unique article — don’t just copy or rewrite your existing content — and include a link back to your page. Your link-swapping partner does the same.</div><div align="justify">It's hard to find a downside to this strategy. You get to craft the content, so your content is highly relevant to your website. You only include one link (perhaps two if you link to different parts of your site), and search engines value one-link pages much heavier than a link from a page with multiple links. And for added value, you get a page of content from your link partner that should be relevant to your website's focus. Blogs are excellent for this kind of link-building and guest bloggers are always in demand.</div><div align="justify" style="font-style: italic;"></div><div align="justify">Now that you have become educated on link-swapping, you might find the need to learn more about Google SEO Services. Social media has absolutely revolutionized the way that we do business both online and off. By utilizing certain social networks, both small and large businesses can grow their audience and increase sales through more loyal customer base.</strong></p> <p align="justify">This article will talk about three of the best ways to grow your audience using social networks. After reading this article you will be able to increase the size and loyalty of your consumer base and increase the visibility of your business online.</p> <p align="justify"><strong>The Shotgun Approach </strong></p> <p align="justify">The "shotgun approach" is really the first step that a business needs to take if they want to increase their audience online. Many small and large businesses rely too much on the few mainstream social media and networks that exist today.</p> <p align="justify">For example, some businesses are only using Twitter or Facebook. Though Twitter and Facebook have a lot to offer, these businesses are missing out on the thousands of other social networks that offer increased visibility.</p> <p align="justify">The "shotgun approach" simply states that a business should create profiles on as many social networks as possible. Real Connection the "real connection" approach, also known as engaging with users, is when a business acts less like a business and more like a person with their interaction with others on social networks.</p> <p align="justify">For example, instead of talking only about your business within your profile, it may be a good idea to try and learn more about other users that interact with your business.</p> <p align="justify">Some social networks make this easier than others. For example at Mezee.me you are much more likely to connect with real people and interact on a more engaged level then you may otherwise on Facebook.</p> <p align="justify"><strong>Social Sharing </strong></p> <p align="justify"><em>The most power in social media comes from its ability to share content with others. Sites like Twitter, Facebook, Mezee.me and others allow businesses and no<img style="display: inline; float: right" align="right" src="http://wpwidgets.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/social-sharing.jpg" width="328" height="246">n-businesses to find content, create content and share it with others.</em></p> <p align="justify">If you remember back from your early elementary school days, the best way to make friends was to share your toys. This is the basic idea behind sharing content. If you find something need, or create something that is memorable or fun, sharing this with other people on the Internet allows you to build relationships.</p> <p align="justify">This does not necessarily mean that you have to always be creating funny, hilarious or bizarre Internet memes. It could mean that you produce a professional paper, or share interesting news related to the industry in which you work. You could also create a group of people that simply discuss interesting topics related to your work.</p> <p align="justify">The point is to share. Just like your elementary school days, the more you share the more friends you have.</p> <p align="justify">By following these three simple ways to increasing your audience using social networks, you can increase the size of your consumer base and increase the business that you do both online and off.</p> <p align="justify">Remember that social media is all about being social. Look for social <a href="http://www.mezee.me">chat site</a> like Mezee.me that actually promotes being social and you will be well on your way to business success.</p> <p style="font-style: italic" align="justify"> <p align="justify">Ludwing Hernandez is a search and social geek who loves tools and blogging on them. So whatever your skill sets or future career goals, chances are you can find a position this s<img align="left" height="497" src="http://myblogguest.com/forum/uploads/articles/2012/5/mp900399332.jpg" style="display: inline; float: left; margin: 19px 45px 0px 0px;" width="332" />ummer.</b><br /><br /><b><span style="font-size: medium;">Here are five jobs to consider this summer:</span></b><br /><ol><li><b>Construction</b> - In most places throughout the country, summer is prime time for construction work, and construction companies are usually looking for several able bodies to help them keep up with demand. If you can stand a little bit of heat, long hours, and laborious work, then this might be the perfect summer job for you. </li><li><b>Landscaping</b> - As the weather gets better and people start mulling about outside, many homeowners start to focus more on how their property looks. Anyone who has summer barbecues, pool parties, or bonfires typically wants their yards to look nice and clean for their guests, but they usually don’t want to do the work - that’s where landscaping companies come in. Performing every duty from mowing grass and trimming trees to planting flowers and arranging stone steps, you can work for a landscaping company this summer to help people clean up their property. </li><li><b>Amusement parks</b> - Going to an amusement park is a favorite pastime for many families and summer is the perfect time to take a little family vacation. Amusement parks hire hundreds of people throughout the summer to keep up with demand, and they need everything from food cart workers and bartenders to ride operators and show performers. So whatever your talents are, chances are you could find a job that suits you at an amusement park. </li><li><b>Tanning salons</b> - This one is kind of a mystery, as you would think that people would just sit outside during the summer in order to get tan, but many people like to visit a tanning salon before they hit the beach so they look tan upon arrival and can avoid any harmful UV rays coming directly from the sun. If you’re looking for a more comfortable summer job, you can help out in an air-conditioned tanning salon, running the cash register and teaching people how to use the tanning beds or get their first spray tans. </li><li><b>Local government </b>- Most local governments provide a number of summer programs for children and adults alike so everyone can stay occupied for a few months. You might be able to find a job at the public pool, for the children’s theater, in the public library, or for a senior citizen’s activities committee. </li></ol><h5>Citations:</h5><ul><li><a href="http://officeimg.vo.msecnd.net/en-us/images/MH900399332.jpg" target="_blank"><b>Image via Microsoft Office</b></a></li></ul><div style="font-style: italic;"><b></b> </div><b>Writer and content creator specializing in everything from job searching and recruiting to social media and technology. He will not stop calling me.”</div><div align="justify">Never bring up your ex on a first date. It’s a major turn-off, and it makes it seem as though you’re not over him yet (and you’re probably not if you’re still talking about him). Besides that, who wants to get involved with someone who has unfinished business with their ex? No matter how much a guy likes you, he’s not going to want a second date if one day he might have to deal with a crazy ex.<br />“I hope to be married five years from now.”</div><div align="justify"><br />This will scare away any guy quickly – even guys who also want to get married sometime in the not-too-distant future. This statement is putting pressure on him already to be “marriage material.” It also seems as though finding your soul mate is a task with a rigid deadline, not a fun process like it should be. <br />“I’m not sure that hairstyle is right for you.”</div><div align="center"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tastino0/5395264376/"><img height="283" src="http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4077/5395264376_eaa9d27005.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="500" /></a>Photo Credit: <b><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tastino0/">Tastino0 - www.tastino0.it</a></b><br />Did he ask you his opinion of his looks? No. So why do you feel so compelled to give your critique? Even if he asked you, this is still just a first date. Be nice, and save the no-holds-barred answers for when you’re a couple. Commenting on his looks in any way that’s not positive will make him uncomfortable and hurt his feelings. You would be offended if he said something like that to you, so don’t do it to him. <br />“I always vote Democrat. What about you?”</div><div align="justify"><br />Topics like politics and religion are very hefty, personal subjects. They can raise a lot of emotions, and they’re just not things you should be discussing on a first date. Your date’s political leaning shouldn’t matter so much to you, and you don’t want to risk getting into a heated debate when you barely know each other. Stick to lighter topics, and worry about stuff like this later.<br />“What do you think about me so far?”</div><div align="justify">This question is like the kiss of death for a first date. Maybe he liked you a lot before you asked him, but now he thinks maybe you’re a little too insecure. Don’t put him on the spot. It’s a first date, so you can’t expect him to have a well-developed opinion of you yet. He’s still getting to know you. And what if he thinks you’re boring or obnoxious? Wait and let whether or not he calls you for a second date tell you how he feels.<br />“I’m so broke right now.”</div><div align="justify"><img height="356" src="http://crucible4points.com/pg/happy-couple.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="375" /></div><div align="justify">Don’t discuss your financial situation on a first date, especially if it’s grim. Compact versions of usual steam rooms and saunas which are normally found in fitness establishments and spas can now be used inside the bathroom. A new system known as the infared sauna is replacing traditional hot stove saunas. The process uses carbon boards instead of hot stones and penetrates deeper into the skin than regular saunas.</b></div><div align="justify"><b>Skin </b></div><div align="justify">You may be wondering if infrared is safe for the skin, and it is. This type of sauna has been reviewed by medical professionals and proven to help with certain health problems. Infrared saunas have been deemed safe by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Infrared heat does not impact the body negatively. It seeps into your skin to permeate deep tissues and muscles, relaxing and increasing blood circulation. </div><div align="justify">Infrared is found in a number of different places. It is what lies between microwaves and visible lights, used by plants for photosynthesis, and used in incubators for premature babies. Infrared should not be confused with harmful ultraviolet rays, which are used in tanning beds. Infrared is even used daily by those that turn their television off and on with a remote control. You may use infrared on a daily basis without even realizing it.</div><div align="justify"><b>Benefits </b></div><div align="justify">Researchers have proven that infrared saunas can help with a number of diseases and illnesses. Those with chronic heart failure who used saunas on a regular basis had an increase in cardiac function. The treatment has been deemed both safe and promising. In fact, the treatments proved to show that cardiac function increased after treatment in an infrared sauna. Similarly, those suffering from arthritis that went under the sauna treatment received a lot of healing benefits. Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis in an infrared sauna, did not provoke the disease in any way either. Infrared saunas have been deemed a useful way to treat certain diseases as well as being an effective means of expelling toxins from the body. </div><div align="justify"><img height="303" src="http://www.steico.com/fileadmin/steico/content/img/Marketing/Bilder/Pics_image/STEICO_summer-heat_woman_with_fan_Fotolia_8699242_XXL_cb.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="662" /></div><div align="justify">Research is continually being conducted, but so far results are quite promising. Saunas both traditional and <a href="http://www.steamshowersupply.co.uk/" target="_blank">steam saunas</a> have been proven to be healthy by increasing circulation and helping in the functioning of vital organs. Research has shown that infrared saunas are safe for humans and can have great benefits for health if used regularly. While the body can benefit from steam when healing vital organs, it also benefits from the excretion of toxins. The overall blood circulation increases and helps the liver and kidneys both function on a better level and excrete toxic waste better. </div><div align="justify">Infrared saunas are also being considered for use as an alternative to medication. Research is still being done to prove the positive effects of the infrared sauna. The effects that have already been discovered are more than promising. Steam has been a positive treatment for all kinds of ailments and infrared saunas are becoming more and more popular. They are considered to be safe for humans and are a positive health advantage for those that use them regularly.</div><div align="justify" style="font-style: italic;"></div><div align="justify">Article written by Andrew Ellis from <a href="http://www.steamshowersupply.co.uk/" target="_self">www.steamshowersupply.co.uk</a> experts in home saunas and heat therapy</div>ketublack8http://www.blogger.com/profile/15528141407869177422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5782403963530326699.post-58344356739003813582012-05-25T08:50:00.000-07:002012-06-03T04:21:58.568-07:00Activites That Will Make Your Adrenaline Jump Into High Gear<p align="justify"><strong>When your adrenaline jumps into high gear it is often called an adrenaline rush. Your heart beats harder and your blood pressure rises. It causes a burst of energy which gives you an extremely intense feeling. During an adrenaline rush all of your senses are heightened.</strong> <p align="justify"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-wgH9l7ERun0/T7PM5yisIsI/AAAAAAAAAns/kkK6036kL2s/s1600-h/Your%252520Adrenaline%252520Jump%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Your Adrenaline Jump" border="0" alt="Your Adrenaline Jump" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-dKI-KFiq6m0/T7PM669-KvI/AAAAAAAAAn0/utb1I9m2bKA/Your%252520Adrenaline%252520Jump_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="422" height="237"></a> <div align="justify"> <a name='more'></a></div> <p align="justify"><strong> Some love that feeling, and there are many situations that can cause the feeling, some of which are sports, also known as extreme sports, and some hobbies.</strong> <p align="justify">Bungee jumping is one activity that will surely get your adrenaline jumping, especially if you have a fear of heights. Standing on the edge of a very high structure, while attached to a large elastic cord and looking down at what's below, in itself, is enough to make your adrenaline run high. Then the leap from the object, the fast-moving free fall, and the recoiling up and down really brings the adrenaline flow to a top level. <p align="justify">Sometimes known as the death slide, ziplining is something that is certain to cause your adrenaline to rise. While holding onto a free moving pulley that is attached to an inclined, suspended cable, you speed from the top to the bottom, with the help of gravity. Whether ziplining indoors or outdoors, you will still experience the sensation of openly flying through the air, and the extreme rush of adrenaline. <p align="justify">Ice climbing is similar to mountain climbing, only it is done on a slipperier, colder, and more treacherous surface. Ice climbing entails ascending inclined ice formations such as frozen waterfalls, and cliffs that are covered with ice. The thrill and danger of this exhilarating sport is one that will cause an abundance of adrenaline. <p align="justify">White water rafting is a heart-pounding experience that will have your adrenaline flowing as fast as the rough water that is moving and bobbing your raft down the river. There is danger and excitement around every rock, rapid and bend. <p align="justify"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-CLH_M3T2Yi8/T7PM8DxjrhI/AAAAAAAAAn8/pJXCWvoVGzc/s1600-h/Tulloch_%2525282%252529%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Tulloch_(2)" border="0" alt="Tulloch_(2)" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-ZdrEO9xXcbc/T7PM9NXUx6I/AAAAAAAAAoE/7cJNX4tGtcU/Tulloch_%2525282%252529_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="415" height="328"></a> <p align="justify">Full of jumps, tricks, stunts, flips, and high-adrenaline is freestyle motocross. Freestyle motocross riders are sometimes called daredevils. They perform high-air, death-defying stunts. The sensational jumps performed on dirt bikes in mid-air cause suspense, danger, entertainment, and quite a bit of adrenaline, even for the audience that may be watching. <p align="justify">A sport that may seem more subtle than the other activities mentioned above, that can also cause your adrenaline to jump, is <a href="http://www.progroupracing.com.au/">horse racing</a>. Horse racing is known as “the most exciting two minutes in sports.” Excitement is experienced by the jockeys, horse owners, as well as the spectators. This excitement causes adrenaline to increase, especially if you have chosen a horse that you would like to win the race, as this will cause even more excitement, along with suspense and anticipation. The rush of adrenaline will increase even more as the end of the race draws closer, and you are rooting for the horse that you chose to get out in front of the pack, and make you a winner. ketublack8http://www.blogger.com/profile/15528141407869177422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5782403963530326699.post-39704986968816614902012-05-24T11:22:00.000-07:002012-06-03T04:21:58.658-07:00I can't imagine a life without art - Anna M. Some may be selling a home they have lived in for years and are emotionally attached to. Others may be selling a rental property that has only served as an investment for them. </b></div><div align="justify">Whether you are emotionally attached to your property or not, selling property can be stressful. You are concerned about staging the home and presenting it in the best way for a new buyer. If you live in the home, you may have to pack up some of your items for storage in order to prepare your home to be listed. It is far more convenient to gather together necessary documents that will be required when you sell your home before you get too far along in the sales process.</div><div align="justify">Some items will be required for the sales process, and others may simply be preferred or helpful. Some of the required items include: </div><div align="justify">-the deed to the property<br />-a previous survey<br />-a previous title insurance policy<br />-a property tax statement<br />-your mortgage information, including account numbers, contact information and outstanding balance of all liens<br />-details on any property liens that have been filed on the property <br />-for rental properties, leases on the property <br />-a Certificate of Occupancy, if you have made structural changes to the property since you purchased it</div><div align="justify"><img align="left" height="263" src="http://www.homequality.gr/images/assign1.jpg" style="display: inline; float: left; margin: 0px 18px 3px 0px;" width="263" />You may have most of this information filed in the original paperwork from the time you purchased the property. Some information, like the property tax statement and mortgage statement, may be included in your current bills and paperwork. You may be able to obtain any missing documentation by contacting the previous title company, local or county departments or your own mortgage company if you do not have the paperwork in your own files. </div><div align="justify">In addition to these required items, other information is often helpful for the sales process. In some cases, a potential buyer may request or require you to provide extra information. Some of the other items that may be requested include: </div><div align="justify">-your current property insurance policy<br />-warranties or guarantees for home appliances, air conditioning and heating units and more<br />-recent utility bills, including gas, electricity and water bills<br />-a recent termite inspection</div><div align="justify">You should keep in mind that while some of these items are simply preferred by a seller, others may be required by the buyer's mortgage lender, by the title company or another entity as a condition to close. This means that you may not be able to close on the sale of your property if you do not have this documentation in order. </div><div align="justify">Whether you are selling an <a href="http://saltwaterapartments.com.au/">apartment</a> that you lease out as an investment or are trying to relocate to a new primary residence, you certainly have a lot of preparations to make. You may be trying to get your property ready to list, and you may be trying to decide which real estate agent to use for this process. There are many decisions and preparations to make, but one of the things you should do right now is gather together the required and preferred paperwork. Having these items on hand and ready to give to the parties requesting them can help you to reduce your stress during this process and save time trying to hunt the paperwork down at the last minute when many of your items are packed away. </div><div align="justify">Brenda is a web contain writer for Saltwater apartments. Yet. Fair enough, it's probably not the most impending of dooms, but if you've ever watched a zombie film before, you'll have spent at least a little time sitting and thinking about your escape routes, about the supplies you'd pack, about your strategy for survival. There's nothing wrong with that; it's just clever foresight!</strong></p> <p align="justify">So if you're the kind of person who sometimes worries about the possible future outbreak of an aggressively virulent and death-reversing virus, read on, and we'll offer you a few hints on pimping your ride for maximum zombie resistance.</p> <p align="justify"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" src="http://farm1.staticflickr.com/33/55358971_12d1450d14_z.jpg" width="500"><br><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/re_verse/" rel="nofollow">CC via Flickr</a></p> <h2 align="justify">Bulletproof Glass</h2> <p align="justify"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" src="http://farm1.staticflickr.com/5/15102366_38be02a52f_z.jpg" width="500"><br><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ob1/" rel="nofollow">CC via Flickr</a></p> <p align="justify">What's that I hear? Zombies don't have guns? Why should you need bulletproof glass? It's a good job you're reading ths guide, because you've already fallen into the worst trap possible: you've underestimated your zombie foes. While it seems unlikely that the undead will be able to operate complex bits of kit like guns, it's not a given. Indeed, some films have shown zombies to be quite adaptable and capable of learning new skills. The last thing you want is to be caught by surprise when a nearby Zed decides to have a go with that pump action shotgun. Beyond that, bulletproof glass is just generally tough and will take the pressure of a mass crush of undead, and it'll protect you from any rival survivors looking to appropriate your supplies</p> <h2 align="justify">Solar Panelling</h2> <p align="justify">This one might not be so useful at the moment, since solar panel technology is still very much in its developmental stages and it'll be a while before we can totally run vehicles effectively on solar power. However, it should be obvious that satisfying power demands in the post-zombie world is going to be a major problem. Given enough time and depending on the number of survivors, gas is going to be in short supply. Not only will solar paneling entitle you to power so long as the weather is good enough, it'll keep your car much quieter than one running on a standard petrol engine, allowing you to stalk about covertly between the roaming undead hordes.</p> <h2 align="justify">Muffler</h2> <p align="justify"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" src="http://farm1.staticflickr.com/62/219581402_4cd89ec4cc_z.jpg?zz=1" width="500"><br><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/laughingsquid/" rel="nofollow">CC via Flickr</a></p> <p align="justify">Assuming you can't get your hands on the above mentioned solar panels, you'll be needing to do something about your engine's noise. If there's one thing we've learned from decades of zombie films, it's that the undead still have a pretty good sense of hearing. Avoid drawing down the wrath of the masses by making sure you've got a good muffler installed on your car.</p> <h2 align="justify">Storage Space</h2> <p align="justify">You're going to need to stay as mobile as possible in a world where you're perpetually dodging a gruesome death. At the same time, you're going to have to carry everything you own with you, or else leave it behind. Solve this by making sure you rig your vehicle up for maximum storage space. Ditch all the unnecessary cargo, attach a roof rack. Cram goods into every possible nook and crannie!</p> <h2 align="justify">Last Resort Anti-Zombie Countermeasures</h2> <p align="justify"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2326/1797581548_c27dad23b3_z.jpg?zz=1" width="500"><br><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jamescalder/" rel="nofollow">CC via Flickr</a></p> <p align="justify">You're probably not going to be able to avoid every fight. Sometimes, it's going to get dicey and you'll have to make a narrow escape. There are a number of ways you can attempt to prepare for this eventuality. We know it sounds cruel, but consider keeping a couple of small animals handy to be deployed as distracting snacks. Failing that, consider mounting weapons. Anything flame based is a sure fire winner against the amassed undead. If you can't manage that, bulking your vehicle up enough to ram through heavy objects and crowds of walking corpses will do the job. Firearms should be an absolute last resort, else you'll attract every Zed within a five mile radius.</p> <p style="font-style: italic" align="justify"> <p align="justify"><strong>You can rent a car from </strong><a href="http://www.vroomvroomvroom.co.uk/car-rental/london-gatwick-airport/">Vroomvroomvroom.co.uk</a><strong> at London airports and around the UK, but you'll have to make it zombie-ready yourself!</strong></p> ketublack8http://www.blogger.com/profile/15528141407869177422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5782403963530326699.post-56458110130136045542012-05-22T08:08:00.000-07:002012-06-03T04:21:59.023-07:00I am a self taught quilter - Kim Brinsfield’s Interview<div align="justify"><a href="http://img0.etsystatic.com/il_570xN.320560112.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="http://img0.etsystatic.com/il_570xN.320560112.jpg" style="display: block;" width="391" /></a><b><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span><b><span style="font-size: medium;">Kim Brinsfield</span> </b></b>I have been a machine quilter for 12 years. <br />I have made, and continue to make, quilts for a number of MLB (Major League Baseball) players... The United States is responsible for nearly half of the entire world’s automotive carbon dioxide emissions, and with global warming still accelerating, it is incumbent upon policymakers and individual consumers to do what they can to adapt the American way of life to a future that is sustainable and environmentally sound.</b></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div align="justify"><b>A Realistic Perspective</b></div><div align="justify">The plain fact is that we are still a long ways away from becoming carbon neutral or abandoning all of the damaging tendencies that are entrenched in our day-to-day lives. And while a utopian vision of a future in which we are all living in luxury without ever darkening the skies or sullying the water with pollution is a vision well worth aspiring to, it’s unreasonable to think that we can take enormous leaps towards it immediately. In the meantime, it’s a matter of small steps, and every little bit helps.</div><div align="justify">With well over 250 million passenger vehicles in the United States, raising the average fuel efficiencies by even a modest amount or encouraging transition to more sustainable alternatives by just a small fraction of drivers would have a significant impact on the volume of overall emissions. Government-mandated fuel efficiency standards have increased over time, though some might say it has been slower than it should have been. Either way, the government must do its part, as must businesses, but individuals must also take responsibility for their own impacts, which, while seeming insignificant on a global perspective, establish patterns for all of their fellow citizens.</div><div align="justify"><b>Increased Efficiency</b></div><div align="justify"><img align="left" alt="green earth" src="http://www.greenskid.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/going-green2.png" style="display: inline; float: left; margin: 4px 18px 13px 0px;" title="earth" />Obviously, one thing you can do if you’re financially able is invest in upgrading to an altogether new car with a more efficient engine. But what if you’re personally attached to your car, as many people are? Perhaps you’re a sports car enthusiast or a mechanic who assembled his vehicle as a labor of love. If in spite of that you’re still concerned about your carbon footprint and environmental impact, you can apply both of these passions by upgrading your car’s engine or chassis to make the vehicle more efficient.</div><div align="justify">The default image one has of a muscle car owner may not be the image of an environmentalist, but interestingly, high-performance cars tend to have greater fuel efficiency because they are more aerodynamic. A commitment to improving one’s car in general goes hand in hand with improving its fuel efficiency. The right selection of Ford Mustang parts, for instance, can decrease drag and net you more miles per gallon than another vehicle with a similar Mustang engine housed in a less sleek design.</div><div align="justify"><b>Eliminating Emissions</b></div><div align="justify">If one wishes to go much further and reduce their carbon emissions to zero, there are a number of companies that sell or install electric vehicle conversion kits, allowing you to turn the car you already own into one that runs independent of gasoline or carbon emissions. This sort of conversion is possible – subject to different specifications, skill levels and price tags – with just about any vehicle. Thus, you can retain the older model sedan that you associate with your youth and your first experiences driving, or the <a href="http://www.cjponyparts.com/">classic Mustang parts</a> that you’ve accumulated as you built your ideal car over the course of years, and in either case you can drastically reduce your impact on the environment.</div><div align="justify">An environmentalist utopia may ultimately be incompatible with the standard American lifestyle, including its obsession with personal mobility. But such lifestyles are by no means incompatible with efforts to transition to a greener society. It is possible to adapt what you already have for yourself to what you will want for the world at large. It just takes personal energy, investment and earnest commitment.</div><div align="justify" style="font-style: italic;"></div><div align="justify">Now that you know about improving fuel efficiency, you may be interested in learning more about the Ford Mustang parts that can improve your car’s aerodynamics. You can simply lay on the beach, take a swim in beautiful waters and enjoy a game of beach volleyball or look for seashells, or you can also experience the nightlife and other amenities/activities in the area.</b></div><div align="justify"><img height="314" src="http://myblogguest.com/forum/uploads/articles/2012/5/886403_73785321.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="415" /></div><div align="center">Photo credit: damo_4701</div><div align="justify">Since the beach has plenty of things to offer, there are certain items that you need to bring with you to ensure that you have everything you need.</div><div align="justify"><b>Beach Clothes</b></div><div align="justify">Obviously, if you are going to the beach, you will need to bring a swimsuit. You should also bring a light colored t-shirt or tank top and a pair of shorts. You could also bring a cover up dress, shirt or skirt. All of these will help protect you from the sun.</div><div align="justify">Since the sand is always hot, you will need a pair of sandals or flip flops. A hat is also a good idea to protect your face from the sun, and sunglasses will protect your eyes.</div><div align="justify"><b>Sunscreen</b></div><div align="justify">Protecting yourself from the sun is the most important thing to remember when at the beach. Make sure that you bring a waterproof sunscreen with a high SPF, and make sure that you apply it every hour or so. You should also bring aloe vera or vitamin E capsules to comfort burned skin.</div><div align="justify"><img height="301" src="http://beautytidbits.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Sunscreen1.jpg" width="437" /></div><div align="justify"><b>Regular Clothes</b></div><div align="justify">Though you will spend a lot of time at the beach, you won't spend all of your time at the beach. For this reason, it's a good idea to bring regular, casual clothes with you. Socks, underwear, shorts and shirts/tank tops are a safe bet. Lighter colored clothes that are made of cotton or an airy material will keep you cool. If you plan on doing a lot of walking, you should bring a comfortable pair of gym shoes. It is also a good idea to bring a long pair of pants and a sweatshirt just in case the temperature drops one day or if a store or restaurant has the air conditioning turned on high.<b> </b></div><div align="justify"><b>Dress Clothes</b></div><div align="justify">Bringing one nice outfit is always a safe idea. Though most restaurants and nightclubs in beach areas will allow beach attire, there may be a few that are more strict. It's always a good idea to have one on hand at all times—you never know when you're going to need it.</div><div align="justify"><b>Accessories</b></div><div align="justify">Make sure to pack all of your beach gear, such as towels, beach umbrellas, coolers, beach chairs, volleyballs, sand toys, metal detectors and anything else you want to play with or use while on the beach. If you have small children, you may want to bring life jackets or floaties to keep children safe while in the water. It's also a good idea to have large sealable bags if you plan on bringing seashells home with you.</div><div align="justify">By packing all of these items, you will be prepared for every activity and event. This will also keep you from having to spend a large amount of money on buying these items at higher-priced beach resorts.</div><div align="justify" style="font-style: italic;"></div><div align="justify">Joseph Peach lives in Miami and works as a lifeguard. He recently took a trip to a <a href="http://www.atlantis.com/default.aspx">bahamas beach resort</a> where he trained new lifeguards.</div>ketublack8http://www.blogger.com/profile/15528141407869177422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5782403963530326699.post-68385838752392961782012-05-20T12:38:00.000-07:002012-06-03T04:21:59.298-07:00Find something that speaks to you - Tommye J Bunce<div align="justify"><a href="http://img0.etsystatic.com/il_570xN.334161584.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="242" src="http://img0.etsystatic.com/il_570xN.334161584.jpg" style="display: block;" width="320" /></a><b><b>Tommye J Bunce - </b><br />I am a retired software engineer and needlework shopowner. So when I decided to make my beaded needlework accessories for sale, I thought I'd used the same name for continuity. </div><div align="justify"><b>-How did you find Etsy? How long have you been selling on Etsy? </b> </div><div align="justify">My friend, Donna, owns a needlework and yarn shop and she told me about it. I opened my Etsy shop a little over three years ago, in Jan 2009. </div><div align="justify"><b>-How would you describe your style? Have any other artists etc influenced your style?</b> </div><div align="justify">I think I have more of a classic style, as opposed to frilly and super sparkly. One of my sisters keeps trying to get me to add more glitz and it's just not me. I do LOVE color though and enjoy combining beads in interesting color combinations. <br />I've not been influenced by anyone in particular. It's more of a personal style than an artistic decision. </div><div align="justify"><img height="397" src="http://img3.etsystatic.com/il_570xN.330623835.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="397" /></div><div align="justify"><b>- How did you first come to art and creativity? How did your journey in art and creativity begin?</b> </div><div align="justify">Great question. Artistic ability is not a natural thing for me. My mother and grandfather were the creative geniuses in my family. I am more like my father in style (casual and classic) and in aptitude. I am a very logical, linear thinker. My father was a Civil Engineer and I was a Software Engineer for many years. When I was young, I watched my grandfather decorate and my mother paint and sew our clothes from her own imagination. I preferred to follow directions and patterns and felt very UNartistic. When I discovered counted cross stitch, I was enchanted. I could create beautiful fiberart in a logical manner that was comfortable for the way my brain worked. Some people liken it to paint-by-number, but as I progressed I expanded my use of various stitches and was more open to changing colors from the suggested ones. Along the way, my right brain (the creative side) was exercised and I developed a creative style. When I started designing needlework accessories, my feel for color and natural view of symmetry came out in my designs. </div><div align="justify"><b>-How long have you been creating?</b> </div><div align="justify">I have been doing counted thread needlework for over 35 years, but I don’t sell many pieces. I give them away as gifts or keep them. I started designing needlework patterns to teach about 20 years ago. My beaded creations came into being only about 4 years ago. </div><div align="justify"><img height="402" src="http://img3.etsystatic.com/il_570xN.330382739.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="402" /> </div><div align="justify"><b>-What is it that you love so much?</b> </div><div align="justify">Without a doubt, needlework is my passion. I adore samplers, especially the very intricate ones from England in the 18th and 19th centuries. <br />In my beaded pieces, I love color and symmetry. </div><div align="justify"><b>-What are your main sources of inspiration?</b> </div><div align="justify">I don't wear a lot of jewelry, but I firmly believe every needleworker should have beautiful tools. I'm not really inspired by any particular thing. It's more of a 'mood'. If I sit down to design some scissor fobs or stitch markers, I just have to feel the color and symmetry of the bead combinations. I usually lay out a bunch of designs and let them sit overnight before I decide if they're good enough. </div><div align="justify"><b>-Have you had any mentors, or are you self taught?</b> </div><div align="justify">I am self taught. Because of being more left brained I learn much easier from diagrams and instructions than being shown how to do something. </div><div align="justify"><b>-Do you sell more at one time of year than others?</b> </div><div align="justify">Not really. Of course, gift giving seasons are a little busier, but my pieces are popular all year round. </div><div align="justify"><b>-What is one thing about your creative process that you think most people don't know?</b> </div><div align="justify">Probably that I don’t consider myself artistic. </div><div align="justify"><img height="396" src="http://img2.etsystatic.com/il_570xN.330512514.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="395" /> </div><div align="justify"><b>-How has life affected your art and art affected your life?</b> </div><div align="justify">My needlework soothes me. I often tell people it’s what keeps me sane. Designing beaded needlework tools is an extension of that creative nourishment of my soul. </div><div align="justify"><b>-Do you have a favorite item you have made?</b> </div><div align="left">It’s hard to pick a favorite piece of needlework out of the hundreds that I've stitched, but this is definitely one of them. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tjbdesigns/">http://www.flickr.com/photos/tjbdesigns/</a><a href="tel:7003349220">7003349220</a>/in/set-72157623357380512<br />And my beaded creations favorite changes all the time, but I love this scissor fob. <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/89974247/scissor-fob-beaded-lime-cobalt">http://www.etsy.com/listing/89974247/scissor-fob-beaded-lime-cobalt</a></div><div align="justify"><img height="372" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7214/7003448430_7c17e159f9_z.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="372" /></div><div align="justify"><b>-What is the best reaction you have gotten from one of your pieces?</b> </div><div align="justify">One of the ladies in my stitch group cried when she received one of my beaded needlecases. Rather, problems are caused by a combination of human error in setting up the network and lack of compatibility between different brands of components.</div><div align="justify"><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-u3DsCSBqtAo/T7QQplwGNWI/AAAAAAAAAos/8c1SqvpewlQ/s1600-h/woman%252520pc%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="woman pc" border="0" height="251" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-X1TI2fv-y3k/T7QQqkBVSsI/AAAAAAAAAow/OKr0RLgbjho/woman%252520pc_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="woman pc" width="365" /></a></div><a name='more'></a><div align="justify">Fixing poor signals should not take much effort. Matching the proper components tends to be the most expensive way to fix problems, but it is also highly effective. Consider these tricks to maximizing your Wi-Fi networks reliability and speed before making the switch back to the cumbersome wired network.</div><h3 align="justify"> Positioning the Signal</h3><div align="justify">Wireless signals do not require line of sight for access, but there are several factors that will weaken the signal and connection of other computers on the network. You should also be aware, the signal has a limited range even without obstacles. Determine where the computers in the home will be located, and place the router or access point between them. For two-story homes with a router on the first, use a high shelf for placement.</div><div align="justify">Walls, floors and metal objects, such as a filing cabinet, will cause signal problems. Avoid placing the router in a corner, near the floor, or on anything metal. Another common cause of interference are normal items in the home transmitting on the same 2.4 gigahertz wavelength as the still common 802.11g routers. Repositioning the router won't help with this problem, but replacing the 2.4 gigahertz cordless phone might improve the signal.</div><h3 align="justify"> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/44523343@N00/8144555/"><img height="252" src="http://farm1.staticflickr.com/4/8144555_deb2386f5e.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="359" /></a></h3><h3 align="justify"> Boosting the Signal</h3><div align="justify">Moving the router is not always a possibility. You can still get a stronger signal, if the antenna is positioned on a filing cabinet in the corner of two outside walls. Standard antennae project an equally strong signal in all directions, but a high-gain antenna will direct all signal strength in one direction. Most routers have a removable antenna to make changing to a high-gain antenna easy. Other types will require replacement of the router itself.</div><div align="justify">Another signal boosting measure is employed heavily by the broadband industry. Wireless repeaters are fairly inexpensive and can be used to extend your range in bad circumstances. The repeater placed halfway between the router and destination computer will simply catch the signal and repeat it at the original strength. The same rules for positioning apply to repeaters.</div><h3 align="justify"> Choosing Components for Compatibility</h3><div align="justify">Industry standards make it possible to use components from different manufacturers together. It may make sense to do so when only considering the upfront cost of components. However, significant boosts in speed are often possible by using components from the same company. A good example is the Speedbooster technology only available when combining a Linksys router with network adapter.</div><h3 align="justify"> Changing the Channel</h3><div align="justify">Much like a radio station signal is muddied on one setting and clear with the next, changing your router's channel can provide signal clarity. This is easy to check by experimenting on your router's configuration page. Each manufacturer has a default address for accomplishing this.</div><div align="justify">Another step for those serious about getting a Wi-Fi network up to par with wired systems is to investigate upgrades. Improvements in hardware and drivers are constantly being made, and the new wireless-N technology promises better signals than ever. For now, it is possible to see significant boosts in performance without upgrades.</div><div align="justify" style="font-style: italic;"></div><div align="justify">Amy Benders is a computer and electronics writer and blogger for several web sites. She writes for <a href="http://www.wirelessinternet.org/3G-network.php">http://www.wirelessinternet.org/3G-network.php</a> where you can find out more about Wifi speed.</div>ketublack8http://www.blogger.com/profile/15528141407869177422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5782403963530326699.post-39792768406263423622012-05-19T08:25:00.000-07:002012-06-03T04:21:59.482-07:005 Amazing Military Heroes From The Past<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikeensor/2530044890/"><img height="283" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2020/2530044890_a3949d8818.jpg" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="419" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikeensor/2530044890/">cc licensed flickr photo</a> shared by <a href="http://www.flickr.com/people/mikeensor/">mikeensor</a><br /><b>H. On the first of his two tours in Vietnam, he served as an advisor; while on his second tour he served as commander of the 23rd Infantry Division. Promoted to Colonel, Schwarzkopf returned to America in a full body cast due to war injuries.</div><div align="justify">Throughout the next couple of decades, Norman held several distinguished military positions, putting him in the U.S. Central Command, where he planned Desert Shield/Desert Storm. It is said that he organized the largest mechanized combat operation since World War 2, assembling 765,000 troops and numerous ships, tanks and aircraft. Famous for the end run he performed against Saddam Hussein's Guard, he was able to cut their supplies and communications.</div><div align="justify">Norman earned three Silver Stars and two Purple Hearts, retiring in 1992 to much praise by the world community for his skill, success and bravery.</div><div align="justify"><b>George S. Patton</b></div><div align="justify"><img align="right" height="204" src="http://www.leadership-with-you.com/images/georgepatton.jpg" style="display: inline; float: right; margin: 0px 6px 0px 0px;" width="152" />Hailing from a family with a rich military history, George attended several military schools including West Point. Eventually earning the title of Major General, Patton participated in Operation Torch, the landings in French Morocco and a campaign in Sicily, before heading to Normandy. He enjoyed much success against the German army, which eventually surrendered.</div><div align="justify">While an amazing military man, Patton was not a politician, often annoying Eisenhower and causing him to move Patton around to keep him out of trouble. Sadly, one of America's most brilliant field commanders was struck in an automobile collision which left him paralyzed from the neck down.
